This illustration was created to depict a unique case study of a patient with diffuse tumor mass in the peritoneal cavity that was deemed to be ovarian in origin. From the operating room report it was determined that only the most crucial steps in this long and complex procedure would be depicted. During the course of the operation, the entire abdominal cavity was opened and tumors were debulked using blunt dissection and argon beam coagulation to maintain hemostasis. An appendectomy and complete hysterectomy with removal of bilateral adnexa were performed in conjunction with the debulking.
