Heart Anatomy & Path of Blood Flow

This illustration shows the interior and exterior anatomy during ventricular systole and diastole. The heart is cross-sectioned to show the interior of the chambers and the valves. Both systole and diastole are shown to illustrate the temporal change of the valve action during the course of the cardiac cycle. Arrows are used to depict blood flow as they clearly show the directional movement of blood through the heart.
Later on I made an animated version of the arrows for an interactive sketchfab model that was used in online learning modules.
Modeled and rendered in ZBrush for use in Sketchfab. Layout done in Photoshop and Illustrator.
